Workforce Development

Employment provides the opportunity to engage as a member of a community. ZoomWorks helps people with disabilities learn skills to successfully enter the workforce or to return to work after an illness or injury. Not only do employees benefit from the gratification of having a job, but businesses also gain from their contributions. ZoomWorks offers a variety of services designed to assist individuals in finding and keeping a job.  ZoomWorks can help with career exploration, learning how to conduct a job search, job placement assistance, as well as provide job coaching in competitive employment. Employment services individuals require will be determined by the individual’s preference and needs. The following is a brief explanation of some of the Workforce Development Services available through ZoomWorks.

Employment Planning

ZoomWorks Employment Planning services help job seekers with career exploration and development.  This service provides information about employment opportunities within a community and the skills, education and training, needed to meet individual employment goals.

Job Placement Competitive Employment

ZoomWorks Job Placement Competitive Employment services help individuals find and keep employment which meets with their employment goals. Vocational counseling, job seeking skills, adaptive needs assessment, case management services, and job development are just some examples of the menu of services that can be used to assist finding a job.

Supported Employment

ZoomWorks Supported Employment services are designed to help individuals be trained in and secure jobs they choose while helping employers strengthen workforce diversity. Both the job seeker and the employer receive the assistance of a ZoomWorks Employment Specialist who will provide support during the initial training period. The job coach remains available to both the persons with the employee and the employer for assistance if issues or concerns arise.

Who Might Access These Services?

Individuals, who have established employment goals, have a clear picture of the type of work they would like and who wants to access employment services.

The Zoom Group staff along with the consumer and their support network would determine the type of service they need. There are many options for approaching employment.

Zoom Group’s focus is to help individuals identify opportunities that will best meet their circumstances and assist the individual in reaching their employment goals.
